![]() ![]() The robed woman steps closer and stares at Aralin through the bars with a big grin on her face. The guard captain approaches Aralin’s cell with a subordinate in tow, as well as a young elf woman in a flowing green robe and oversized hat, with a pair of equally oversized glasses. Aralin quickly extricates herself from her spiraling thoughts and sits upright. But no, they all got spooked at a few flames. If they hadn’t had her locked up right away, she could just head out somewhere away from other people and teach herself to control her powers. i.e, they didn't want her walking around like some magical timebomb. Oh, no, sorry, 'kept under security surveillance'. Anyone reasonable should have been able to realise that what she had done wasn’t intentional.Īnd yet, she was still being punished. The only time her gag was removed was to feed her, and even then, she was firmly briefed not to say a single word for any reason. They wouldn’t even let her say a word in her own defence. Before she knew what had happened, the guards had grabbed her, shoved a gag in her mouth and bound her tightly. All she really did was sneeze how that set multiple roofs on fire is beyond her. It's not as if she meant to cause any problems. ![]() She's been in here for the last week, watching through the window as the town gradually recovered from the magical mishap that Aralin had accidentally created. Not to mention the collar keeping her chained to the wall. Unlike her, sitting on a prison bench in a reverse prayer, with leather mitts over her hands and a panel gag over her mouth. They don’t seem bothered at all that she’s down here while they stroll about in the sun, free as birds. Reams of people, many of whom she grew up with. It's her only glimpse of the outside world, of the townspeople going about their business. Aralin stares out the tiny barred window at the top of her below-ground cell. ![]()
